The Library That Reopened Twice as Big

After Typhoon Igme, Sitio Bagong Pag-asa Elementary School lost its entire library collection to water damage. Teachers improvised with borrowed books in a spare classroom for over a year. The rebuilt library reopened with reinforced roofing, new shelving, and more than 1,500 donated and newly purchased books — nearly double the original collection. A reading nook added during the rebuild has become so popular that classes now take turns signing up for time in it.
