Coastline Restored
When Caring Hearts Foundation first surveyed Barangay Malinis, the shoreline behind the elementary school was barely recognizable as a beach — a thick tideline of plastic bottles, sachets, and fishing debris had built up over years of unmanaged waste.
Volunteers, together with over 60 residents, ran monthly clean-up days for a year, paired with the installation of proper waste sorting bins and a partnership with the municipal hauler. The result is a stretch of coastline the community now uses for weekend gatherings, swimming lessons for kids, and the barangay's annual fiesta.
